Don Mclean»

Зато в 1973-м Перри Комо перепел "And I Love You So" (с диска "Tapestry") и сделал из нее хит по обе стороны Атлантики. Однако больший успех имела не эта песня, а композиция "Killing Me Softly With His Song", посвященная МакЛину и исполненная Робертой Флэк.
д. Заслуги МакЛина на поприще рок-н-ролла были отмечены в 2002-м занесением "American Pie" в "Grammy Hall of Fame" и в 2004-м введением его самого в "National Academy of Popular Music Songwriters' Hall of Fame".
