Buffalo Springfield.
Его первый сольный альбом, «Neil Young» (1968), не произвёл должного впечатления, однако уже на втором диске «Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere» (1969) появились песни, которые были признаны классикой зарождающегося хард-рока, — «Cinnamon Girl» и «Down by the River».
По слухам, в предсмертной записке Курта Кобейна содержалась цитата из песни Янга: «It’s better to burn out than to fade away».
