The band’s 2006 debut album Awakening, which boasts a guest appearance from Marillion’s Steve Rothery, garnered worldwide critical acclaim, whilst its successor Dark Angel, released in 2008, continued to expand the band’s rapidly widening international fan base, and saw them firmly established for their breath-taking live performances. In 2009, The Reasoning’s first single – a cover version of the Duran Duran classic The Chauffeur – peaked at #2 in the Amazon Download Chart, and Adverse Camber, their third studio album, (April 2010) was commended for demonstrating a new confidence and maturity in the band’s style and approach. This was recognised in the 2010 Prog magazine readers’ poll, in which the band were nominated in three separate categories. Responding to public demand, Acoustically Speaking, an album featuring luscious acoustic re-workings of audience favourites was released later that same year, followed by a four-track EP of new material, entitled And Another Thing……. in spring 2012. In early 2012, after several successful years on their own independent record label Comet Music, The Reasoning signed to Cherry Red Records subsidiary Esoteric/Antenna for a one-album worldwide deal. The resulting release, Adventures in Neverland, and its promotional tour were widely covered in the UK music press, and also significantly broadened the band’s international following. The band was nominated in the Best New Blood category at the much publicised Prog magazine awards that same year. Equally innovative and productive both in the studio and on the road, The Reasoning have appeared at several high profile live music events, including the inaugural High Voltage festival in London in 2010 (a performance captured on DVD and released shortly afterwards), the USA Rites of Spring Festival (RoSfest) in 2011, subsequently released as a live album entitled Live in the USA: The Bottle of Gettysburg, and a main-stage slot at the UK’s notorious HRH Prog festival in 2013. They have also opened a number of UK and European shows for rock icons Marillion, and toured the UK with FISH in 2008. 2014 marks the beginning of a new era for the band. With a fresh approach to writing and a revitalised professional image, The Reasoning are set to release their fifth studio album this autumn. A tour of the UK in October and November this year will be followed by further live dates in this country and further afield. Determined and enthusiastic, this band is a force to be reckoned with, and they will be taking the music world by storm over the next few months and beyond. Скрыть...
