The Beautified project was formed in 2004 by Andre Simonian in London. Its music was designed to portray the dark side of human spirit, with a kind of melancholic and mellow sound that reminds us of musicians such as Dido, James Blunt and David Grey, but with kind of anger and despair in its lyrics and attitude that has more in common with the likes of Cold Play, Radiohead and even Metallica. Its music was designed to portray the dark side of human spirit, with a kind of melancholic and mellow sound that reminds us of musicians such as Dido, James Blunt and David Grey, but with kind of anger and despair in its lyrics and attitude that has more in common with the likes of Cold Play, Radiohead and even Metallica. The Beautified project released their first single “All Alone” in late 2005. It gained them underground following due to its dynamic sound and catchy chorus. It also became a well known song amongst Armenians in UK, since the song is inspired by the life of Armenian Artist & Genocide survivor Arshyl Gorki, who took his own life after failing to cope with his deep depression. Andre was invited to perform the song on the 1600 birthday of Armenian Alphabet in front of an audience of 500 people. In early 2006, the second single “Broken Smile” was released as limited addition cd format. Fans welcomed this release with open arms. The 200 copies of the single sold out during the two successful gigs in London. This proved that The Beautified Project were ready to start recording their first album. After a successful acoustic performance at Shepherd’s Bush Ginglik on 2nd of February 06, which featured amazing talents of guitarist Chris Christopher, Andre entered The Basement in East London to start recording the first Beautified album with producer TimB.
